Please make all requests via email or the key request form. We cannot process walk-in requests.

You cannot request keys or access for yourself. See below for detailed instructions.

Labs, Research Staff Offices

The PI or lab manager for the space should either

  • the keyholder’s name
  • the keyholder’s email address
  • the exact room numbers you are requesting. If a room is inside a lab or suite, please make sure to include the letter for that room. (Example: 148B is a room inside suite 148 and has its own lock).

ESE Shared Offices

The faculty advisor, lab manager, or work supervisor should either

Robin will seek approval from the space committee before issuing a key.

There is not enough space for all students to have a desk. Please only request desks for students who will use the space more than once a week.

Rooms Requiring Space Committee Approval

The space committee must approve keys for these rooms:

  • Baity A110, A111
  • Hooker 0034 and 1305
  • McGavran 3205, 3208, 3221N, 3221O, 3221P
  • Rosenau 6, 10

One Card Access

For a student, postdoc, or new employee to gain access to:

  • the Hooker lab wing
  • any Gillings building at night or on weekends

the PI, lab manager, or work supervisor must email Robin Whitley with the name, PID, and request. Please make the request specific, including whether night/weekend access is required.

Pickup

When the keys are ready, Robin Whitley will email the keyholder with instructions for pickup.
